When the Brain Explorer 3-D Viewer opens, you will be taken to a screen that displays the #Image Image Viewer, the #Structure Structure Ontology Viewer, and the #Gene Gene List.

Image Viewer

The Image Viewer will display the gene expression representations in 3-D for your gene of interest across all stages. Each stage will default to separate color schemes for each developing stage. For each developing stage, a sphere represents expression re-sampled to a grid resolution that is dependent on the stage in question (see the Informatics Data Processing whitepaper available in the Documentation tab for more information). Larger spheres correspond to a greater density of expression in that voxel.
